"Godless John" stands as a collaborative venture between Brazil and Portugal, delving into the narrative surrounding the scandal entwined with João de Deus.
This production draws inspiration from one of the most notorious cases of sexual abuse in modern Brazil, where the self-proclaimed medium and psychic surgeon João Teixeira de Faria, known as João de Deus, faced over 600 allegations, ranging from sexual abuse to rape and pedophilia.

Our creative focus extended to the meticulous design of the logo, typography, and graphic language, all integral components of this project. Additionally, we took charge of crafting the opening title sequence and a majority of the VFX elements featured throughout the series.
The Logotype:
Title Open Sequence:
For the Intro Open Sequence, our approach aligns with a fundamental dichotomy, tracing a path from good to evil.
Commencing with an upright triangle, the introduction concludes with an inverted one. The visuals unveil miracles and the unwavering faith of people, with hands taking center stage as the main characters. These hands, instrumental in performing miracles, healing, and blessing, are paradoxically the same hands that touch, hurt, torture, and inflict pain. The simplicity of a gesture holds the power to convey contrasting energies.

The intentional use of glitches persists throughout, disrupting the senses with image cuts that seemingly transcend the screen, permeating the lives of the victims. These glitches symbolize cuts to faith, trust, and happiness—an unsettling portrayal of the intricate dualities embedded in seemingly innocuous actions.
