The history of Portugal is full of great figures, some greater than others, who with their actions, thoughts, courage, creativity, cowardice, inspiration, madness, and vision, marked the country's narrative. But, we rarely think that many of these personalities interacted with a kindred spirit (friend or foe, positive or negative) who gave them meaning, inspired them, completed them, and led them to act.
"Duplas à Portuguesa" is made up of stories of duos that marked Portugal in different times and contexts, from medieval to contemporary, from war to poetry, and from politics to science. It is a walk between two biographies that intersect and combine to form a single chapter, narrated with the precision that History demands, but with some irony and "lightness".
